# Brand & Appearance

Your ordering page can carry your own logo and colors, under **Settings → Restaurant**. Owners can change these.

## Logo

Upload your logo under **Settings → Restaurant**. It appears on your ordering page and in customer-facing materials.

Use a **square image** with a **transparent or white background**, at least 512×512. A logo with a colored rectangle baked in looks wrong against every background it lands on.

## Brand colors

Set two colors:

- **Primary** — buttons, links, the main accent
- **Accent** — secondary highlights

Enter each as a hex code (`#6d28d9`). Everything else — the darker pressed state, deep fills, light-on-dark text — is derived automatically. You set two colors, not eight, because those relationships are color theory, not a decision to make on a settings form.

Leave both blank and your page uses ForkLine's default violet.

### Colors are adjusted for readability

Anything carrying **text or a thin border** is automatically darkened if needed to stay readable, to meet accessibility contrast standards. Large fills keep your exact color.

**The settings card shows you this adjustment** rather than hiding it. If your pale yellow appears darker on buttons than the swatch you picked, that's deliberate — the original would be unreadable at normal text size.

Button text color is calculated too, never assumed white. A yellow brand gets dark button text automatically.

## Where brand colors appear

**Your ordering page** — the main surface, and what customers see.

**The admin** — the admin chrome picks up your colors too, for whichever restaurant is selected. Useful if you manage several locations: the color tells you at a glance which store you're in.

**Not on status colors.** Greens, reds, and ambers that mean *paid*, *unpaid*, and *needs attention* on the [register](/register-pos) and [kitchen display](/kitchen-display) are never re-colored. Those carry operational meaning and a brand color must not be able to imitate them.

The admin resolves your colors separately for light and dark mode, so a near-black brand stays usable in dark mode and a near-white one in light mode.

## Register section colors

Separate from brand colors, and a fixed palette rather than free hex: menu categories can carry a color shown only on the register. See [Managing Your Menu](/menu-management).

The palette there deliberately excludes green, red, and amber for the same reason as above.

## Choosing colors

**Use the colors already on your sign and menu.** Consistency with your physical restaurant beats anything you'd pick fresh.

**Test on a phone.** Most customers order on one. A color that reads well on a large monitor can vanish on a phone outdoors.

**Avoid very pale primaries.** They'll be darkened for text contrast, so what you see on buttons won't match your swatch.

## Restaurant details

Also under **Settings → Restaurant**:

- **Name** — on your page, receipts, and emails
- **Phone** — see [Ordering Settings](/ordering-settings) to show or hide it
- **Tagline** — a short line under your name, also used as your search-result description
- **Street, city, state** — used for pickup directions, delivery routing, and search engines
- **Timezone** — everything time-related depends on it; see [Store Hours](/store-hours)
- **Google Review URL** — link customers to leave a review

Keep the address accurate. It's what couriers navigate to for [delivery](/delivery) and what search engines publish.
